Casa da Andorinha shines as a remarkable Portuguese restaurant nestled in the heart of Osaka. Diners rave about the warm ambiance, perfect for enjoying a cozy meal. The food, particularly the codfish specialties, captures the essence of Portuguese cuisine, evoking nostalgia for its rich culture.
Mohammed Haykel Ben Jaafar enthusiastically highlights the chef's exceptional skill and the delectable flavors that make this restaurant a must-visit. The bacalhau croquettes, made from the famed salt cod, are a delightful appetizer at just JP¥200. For a heartier option, the seafood cataplana, a unique pressure-cooked dish, offers a vibrant mix of flavors and pairs beautifully with risotto, standing out at JP¥3,500.
While some patrons note that the menu could benefit from better translations into English or Portuguese, the flavors more than compensate for this minor inconvenience. R C reinforces this sentiment, describing Casa da Andorinha as a captivating blend of authenticity and interpretation, delivering well-prepared dishes that please the palate.
With a stellar combination of charm, quality, and creativity, Casa da Andorinha is indeed a worthy destination for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Portugal in Japan.

The restaurant successfully captures the essence of Portuguese dining, though some note it leans toward a creative interpretation rather than strict authenticity. On the feedback side, several diners mention the need for improved menu accessibility, such as clearer translations and inclusion of pictures, to better accommodate non-Japanese speakers. Overall, Casa da Andorinha is regarded as a highly recommended spot for Portuguese flavors in Osaka.
One of the best restaurants... The food is good, the chef is nice, totally worth it !! Obrigado !!
As a born and raised Portuguese I can say that this place nails the atmosphere and the service is fantastic. The food is great as well, especially the cod fish but it's more of an interpretation of Portuguese food rather than a super authentic take. Regardless it was all very tasty and well prepared.
Good Portuguese food at Japanese portions. We enjoyed our dinner here. I am surprised that the menu does not have more details in Portuguese or English. Translations need some improvement otherwise it was a nice meal.
Warm environment and tasty Portuguese food. Highly recommended
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Flavour and quality top class ! Only slight downside is for those who can't read Japanese on the menu, would be nice to have some pictures.
Very interesting experience, the food is authentic Portuguese food with a Japanese twist. I absolutely loved the food and the music they were playing ( radio Amália I think). As a Portuguese myself I can testify that the food is very authentic. The chef is a hardworking person and we had a nice conversation about Portuguese food.
If you're homesick and craving for some good Portuguese food. This is the place to go.
